Where dining and design form the ultimate union to deliver restaurants and wine shops that inspire the palate and evoke the senses.

Tracy Borkum’s collection of CUCINA restaurants are known for combining the flavors of Italy with the organic freshness of Southern California. CUCINA’s from-scratch menus, include shareable portions of luxurious house made pasta, innovative pizza, cleverly crafted large plates, an elevated selection of antipasti, dolci, and a signature cheese and salumi program.

We are a retail wine shop within a restaurant. Dynamic, diverse and fun, our wine program features 200+ labels from around the world, with an emphasis on Italian and California varietals. Our goal is to share value with our guests, and celebrate those behind the label: on the farms and in the wineries.

Our environments evoke a modern Italian kitchen-meets-charming bohemian eatery, complete with open kitchens, large alfresco patios, communal seating, spacious bar areas and intimate table settings. These carefully curated emporiums draw inspiration from a myriad of different elements, including natural materials, free-spirited gardens, vibrant patterns, whimsical lighting and bold graffiti style art installations.

Most of the hand-picked vintage finds found within the CUCINA venues are readily for sale. Additionally, guests may order the chair they are seated on or the table they are dining around plus a plethora of artisanal gifts at our online retail portal, Urban Kitchen SHOP.

Unencumbered by the conceptual parameters of a free-standing restaurant, Urban Kitchen Catering expands our chefs’ creativity by designing menu themes of all-genres, including Americana, Farm-to-Table, Mediterranean, Latin-Fusion, Asian, Traditional and Modern. As exhibited in our restaurants, Urban Kitchen Catering espouses an unwavering integrity standard of enhanced customer service, attention to detail, value and quality of execution.

We are wholly committed to sustainable and local farming, organic practices, fair trade, and upholding a dynamic and diverse work environment.

Urban Kitchen Group Mission: “to successfully craft the perfect dining trifecta: exceptional food and superior service in imaginatively designed environments.”

Urban Kitchen Group Gives Back

We are most grateful to the communities in which we live and work. It is our privilege to share who we are and what we do through partnerships and charitable donations with numerous local non-profits in both San Diego and Orange County, including food banks, animal rescues, environmental conservatoires, community organizations, theater and art groups, health services and others.

Through our Sip + Support initiative, Urban Kitchen Group selects a local charity to support each month. We donate a portion of sales from every glass or bottle of our CUCINA private label wine. If interested in submitting a non-profit for our Sip + Support program, please contact: contact@urbankitchengroup.com
