About Scribe Winery:
Scribe Winery, founded in 2007 by brothers Andrew and Adam Mariani, produces vibrant, terroir driven wines from Sonoma, California. The fourth-generation California farmers began their winemaking venture on a property that helped pioneer pre-prohibition Sonoma Valley winemaking. Andrew and Adam believe that the best wines are a result of a healthy relationship between man and nature, and that a vineyard managed in harmony with the greater ecosystem results in more site-specific wines that represent a sense of time and place. When vinified with non-interventionist methods, the result is a distinct wine that faithfully reflects what the vineyard naturally expresses.
Notes for featured Scribe Wines:
“Estate” Rosé of Pinot Noir 2015
The wine effuses delicious flavors of fresh watermelon, grapefruit, blood orange, river rock and sea salt.
Chardonnay Carneros 2013
This bright/high acid chardonnay is made without aging in Oak and without malolactic fermentation (aka secondary fermentation), two standard practices when it comes to Chardonnay making. This wine went through an extended cold fermentation in stainless steel and concrete, then aged for five months before being bottled in April 2015. The wine has flavors of apple blossom and quince.
Pinot Noir Carneros 2014
This pinot is made with an equal split Martini and Pommard clone Pinot Noir grapes. Aged for 6 months in neutral Frank oak barrels, it has well-integrated spice, earth and bright cherry fruit on the palate. Expect a lean/high acid Pinot Noir.
Cabernet Napa Valley 2013
Aged for 20 months in French oak, this wine deserves a spot among the elite Cabs of California. Well structured with elegance and finesse, notes include black currant mixed with graphite and flowers. The palate shows classic mountain fruit character.
About Banshee Wines:
Founded in 2009, Banshee Wines is the classic entrepreneurial story, three friends, all with day jobs in the wine industry, decide to buy eight barrels of coveted Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. Their plan was to either sell the wine case-by-case to friends or have a lot of high quality wine to drink for the next ten years. After selling the wine in five weeks time, Banshee Wines was born. Since then, the friends and wines have grown up through strong relationships with high-end vineyard owners in Sonoma and working in lock step with them. In addition, an A+ winemaking team is on board to bring some of the best in next generation California wines to market. If you’re ever in Healdsburg, visit the Banshee tasting room for a refreshing and relaxed take on your typical tasting room.
Notes for featured Banshee Wines:
Rosé of Pinot Noir Mendocino County 2015
Pale pink in color, this wine is blessed with a bouquet of fresh flowers and just picked strawberries. In the mouth, there is a pleasant juiciness and succulent fruit character of peaches, red berries and starfruit. The finish is zipped up with a bolt of refreshing acidity.
Chardonnay Sonoma Coast 2014
The majority (90%) of this vintage was fermented in French Oak barrels with the remainder in stainless steel, resulting in tastes of apple and pear with flourishes of white peach and nectarine. The finish is refreshing and firm.
Pinot Noir Sonoma County 2014
The bedrock of this wine is Sonoma Coast fruit, delivering the signature floral and earth aromatics. Notes include Bing cherry and Asian plums. The wine has good carry-through from front to finish, with lively acidity to keep it light on its feet.
Cabernet Napa Valley 2013
The resulting wine is like a bridge between the styles of yesterday’s Napa Cabs and today’s. It jumps out of the glass with aromas of black fruit, incense and plums, tasting notes of dark cherry, plums and a touch of cocoa. This wine was aged for 19 months in French oak.
Both dinners are priced at $112 per person plus tax. Seating is limited. Reserve your seats today.
